Prehnite is characterized by its translucent to transparent appearance and often exhibits a vitreous to pearly luster. It can range in color from pale green to a deeper, more intense green shade. Some specimens may also display yellow or brown undertones.
In terms of hardness, prehnite ranks at 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively durable but still susceptible to scratching over time.
